Kentucky Man apologizes on Facebook post before killing girlfriend
A man from Kentucky has been charged with murder of ex-girlfriend. “I’ve been pushed to this point over time, It’s so sad. I’m a terrible person overall.” Police reported that he made an apology moments before shooting his ex-girlfriend.
The man, identified as Ethan Reid, 23, shot ex-girlfriend and mother of his 7-month old baby girl, Kayla Hodges, Monday evening.
According to witness, Kayla and Ethan reportedly ended their five years relationship last week, but Kayla tried to run away with their daughter and Ethan shot and killed her.
Allen County Sheriff’s Office stated that Kayla was found on the front porch of their home with a gunshot wound by the county EMS, but she later died at the hospital were she was taken
According to Scottsville Police Department Detective John Rose, Ethan wanted to kill himself after the murder, however the attempt was interrupted.
Reid was arrested and he’s now at the Allen County Detention Center. He was charged with first-degree murder and domestic violence, and is scheduled for arraignment October 12.
Ethan and Kayla’s 7-month daughter will remain under the care of Kayla’s parents.
