Lagos State plan to employ 1000 graduates as bus conductors
The Lagos state Ministry of Transportation are working with the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria (BCAN) to create jobs. They plan to employ 1,000 graduates from different universities as bus conductors, according to Vanguard
The National President of BCAN, Comrade Israel Ade Adeshola, said that the plan is to make bus conductor a professional job and the graduates would be paid N50,000 monthly.
Governor Akinwumi Ambrose stated that they are currently training and accrediting conductors in the state with the aim of making the profession look dignified. He said “The objective is to make the job of bus conducting attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally.”
By so doing, the transportation system will be safe and security will be enhanced, which would in turn, provide employment opportunities to graduates, says Adeshola.
