Interview with Joe Smile

At what age did you start singing?
Funny enough, I started singing at 20 years old.
Who inspires you?
I get inspired by gospel artist like Don Moen and Frank Edward. I love their songs a lot, they inspire me.
Do you write your songs?
I write my songs. Once a song comes in mind, I record it quickly then when I’m prepared to go into the studio for recording, I write them down.
What songs have you released so far?
So far, I’ve done three songs. Idimma, Yesu Yabani and King of Kings
Where do you get inspiration for your songs?
I get inspiration whenever I’m alone or talking with People about Christ. Also from listening to messages from great men of God and friends. Basically, I get my inspiration from listening to God’s word or preaching about God’s word.
If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could perform anywhere in the world,which I know will come to pass soon by God’s grace, it will be in Canada or the US.
What is your favorite song to sing live?
My Favorite song to sing live is IDIMMA which is my second single, please listen to it.
Do you have a song you are working on?
Actually, I’m currently working on a song that will shake the heavens and its titled Angels Bow
If you had a soundtrack to your life what song/songs would have to be on it?
If I have a soundtrack to my life, the songs that would have to be on it are, I see Him, By Frank Edward, I will Sing by Don Moen and my song, Idimma.
Which instruments do you play?
I play the drum and I’m currently learning how to play Keyboard.
What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood?
My fondest musical memories was how I started. My family members saw it as a joke until it became reality. Even my neighbors and friends pray for me often, since this is now my reality.
How do you handle mistakes during performance?
Its not easy to handle mistakes during performance, all I do is just go on with the flow and be selfless since I’m not singing to any man, but God.
