South Africa bans American pastor for being anti-gay

American pastor, Steven Anderson, of the Faithful Word Baptist Church, Arizona has been banned from entering South Africa. After the killing of 50 people at the gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, he stated “there’s 50 less pedophiles in the world.”

Anderson was supposed to visit South Africa this weekend to preach to gay people and convert them, but the gay and lesbian South African community collected about 60,000 signatures. They made a petition that Anderson was discriminating. Malusi Gigaba, Minister of Home Affairs told media that he was banning Anderson.

Anderson went on Facebook and wrote “I have been banned from South Africa and the United Kingdom”
“I feel sorry for people who live in South Africa, but thank God we still have a wide open door in Botswana”

South Africa became the first African country to legalize homosexuality in 2006.
